The Family History
of
George King and Maude Neal King
The word history would be defined as a record of pass events, according to the dictionary. Tennyson, said in one of his writings that “the old order changeth, yielding place to news.” Therefore we find that the time has come, when we must move on and give our places to others, others who will, we hope, set their goals higher than ours and there by do better and more constructive work.
George King the 7th child of Henry King and his wife Edith Watlington King was born 1864, which was before slavery was over, according to Rockingham County Census report dated (1870-1880).
After George grew up, he was united in marriage to Maude Neal King. In their union nine children were born: Daisy, Della, Edna, George, Idell, Henry, Roberta, Jake and Cornelia. Lawrence (McCain) King and Bessie (Harris Neal) King.
George realized that he had to et out on his own, so he continued to work hard and began buying land. On the 27th of September, 1899, he purchased land from Garland Watt and his wife in Rockingham County. Also on the 11th of March, 1900, he purchased land from Rufus Manley, in Rockingham County (known as George King’s Farm).
As we look back from where we’ve come and as we look at the present the question is where do we go from here?

The Family History
Of
Jim and Annie C. Mullins
And
Annis and Annie C. Mullins Graves
After a warm and loving couple was united in marriage, Jim and Annie C. Mullins lived a quiet and peaceful life in Reidsville, NC. Jim and Annie were farmers, but this was not the joy that would fulfill their lives. After a period of time, they decided to start their little family of Mullins. Born to this marriage were the following children: Floyd, Maude, Walter, Bessie, Lizzie, Olla, James, and Daisy Mullins.
After the Lord saw that Jim Mullins work here on earth was plentiful, He said come home my son for you have completed your earthly duties. Come home to your resting place. Later in life, Annie C. Mullins, married Annis Graves. Realizing that the Lord was not ready for her, she was blessed with two additional children, Robert and Sadie Graves. After another long and fulfilled life the Lord looked down once again and decided that it was time for them to come home also. Annis Graves passed first, and then shortly thereafter Annie C. Mullins Graves went on to her resting place.
Throughout all of the children lives they did their daily chores as humble and obediently as children should. When they had matured, each child left the home one at a time. They felt that it was time for them to go their separate ways. The family started moving in different areas of North Carolina. After each child established their individual lives, they started families of their own.
You know sometimes we take families fro granted, but throughout my research of our family, I found no conflict among them that they could not solve by sitting down and discussing the situation. This family seemed to me, to have a lot of love for each other. I got the impression that whatever problems arose in this family, all was their to give support to each other.
